AWFUL. I don’t recommend it at all! I have been off of it almost 1 month and I'm still having to struggle and battle with severe depression. It felt like I would never be normal again. Around 10 pm I started to get a headache on the left side of my head, which over the next two hours developed into a migraine. While on 50 mg I slept maybe 20 hours over 10 days and at one point went 4 days straight with no sleep. Plenty of predisposing factors for mental and physical health as well as your race, gender, diet, and medications influence your experience. Was prescribed short term for poison ivy. A week by week kind of progress, not day by day. I've been through all kinds of meds, massages and P.T. I took this medicine (6 day taper pack) in mid-May and it’s now mid-July and I still have the side effects once a week-ish. If I didn't have Jesus to turn to...Well I just finish my first day of 6 10mg and feeling great. The drug also caused low potassium, which may have contributed to the other side effects.
Prednisone can be a pain but usually the good outweighs the bad.
It caused me to have a yeast infection too, it's just an awful drug.
It is Friday and I didn’t take one last night or today! I used 40 mg oral prednisone, 4.8 g oral mesalamine, and a mesalamine enema, and nothing seemed to help my Ulcerative Colitis. I was not able to work during the treatment. It has gotten better, just very slowly. By the 4th day I was completely suicidal.
Had I not had an Ativan on hand to take I would have admitted myself to the psychiatric unit. I had extreme panic and mania. Talk to your doctor, who understands medicine more than consumers, and report any unwanted symptoms during treatment.I took this drug for 4 days. I didn't take day #3. 40mg a day and decreasing 5mg a week until I am in remission. So far no side effects.This drug saved my life. This went away after about 3 weeks, once I tapered off of prednisone. The soles of my feet, my arms, legs, back, face, scalp burn! I've never taken a steroid like this before, but 40 mg feels TERRIBLE and one dose was enough to make me talk to my doctor about lowering it.AWFUL.

Finally got Lorazepam to help sleep which I took about 12 times had to double dose this a couple times for it work plus melatonin. Took my first dose this morning around 9 AM, felt fine all day. 2nd day off of it and I’m aching, headache dizzy and feel very tired. Reviews that appear to be created by parties with a vested interest in the medication will not be published.
The first day to take 6 pills at 10 mg each. My heart was pounding and my chest and back feel weird. then the 2nd day to take 5 pills at 10mg each then the 3rd day to take 4 pills at 10mg each etc until the 6th day to take the last pill at 10mg. I ended up going off all medication and healing through diet. “[I wish I knew that] I would still be on it 20 years later! Some side effects, such as stomach upset or mood changes, can happen straight away. AWFUL. I was told I was going to be given a double does to combat everything that was going on so I had to take 4 10MG pills once daily for 3 days, then 3 10MG for 3 days all the way down to 1.
