It covers those Battalions' activities from 1912-1928. Soon moved to Luton and by November 1914 was at Bishop's Stortford. A 2nd Battalion, raised in 1799, immediately accompanied 1st Battalion on the Helder Expedition, before disbanding three years later. He is listed as "casualty in the Expeditionary Force reported from the Base under date 18th February: wounded" on the Casualty List issued by the War Office from 27th February 1916. By the outbreak of the Second World War (1939-45), 2nd Battalion was back in Britain.
